Narrating the history of humanity and the world through the magical paths of art – 11/03/2013
Days have passed and the time has come to meet again for yet another journey in time.
On this occasion we will meet at ancient days, under the shadow of the imposing Pyramids of Giza. We will travel along the Nile with it’s fertile riverbank until we reach the city of Thebes and gaze with admiration at the Temple of Luxor and Karnak.
From there, we cross to the west side of the Nile where the Valley of the Kings lies, following the footsteps of archaeologists taken at the beginning of the 20th century. Then we will bid farewell to ancient Egypt from the Abu Simbel temples that were disassembled and reconstructed piece by piece higher on the cliff, to avoid them vanishing forever under the rising waters of one of the largest man-made lakes in the world.
From the mouths of the Nile we will reach the Mediterranean Sea and head northwest to Minoan Crete to trace the mythical steps of the Minotaur in the luxurious Palaces that resemble labyrinths; those full of joy but also mystery.
And when the time comes – just before the volcano of Thera erupts – we will sail to the East, in a far away land, at the mythical Garden of Eden between Tiger and Euphrates River. There, our exciting journey will end; a journey to the art of civilizations that rose and then fell forever leaving behind a legacy of extraordinary samples of the artworks of their day.
The group is open to everyone!
