Meditation: a dialogue with the Self

Meditation is in reality a dialogue.

Every moment in his life man is in some sort of meditative state; he is in an inner process of questioning and answering. He ponders, he is puzzled, he finds answers to his questions, he acts according to his decisions and so on. What he really does is having a conscious or unconscious “dialogue” with his self.

The difference between this everyday function and the meditation of a spiritual man is that in the latter case the person who meditates seeks willingly to be united with wider fields of consciousness that might be revealed to him as he is relaxed and alert enough to perceive them mentally.

The more we begin to consciously participate in this dialogue with our inner self through meditation, the more the mystery of Creation, Knowledge and Freedom is revealed to us.
