With participants from Greece and abroad, we had three days of relaxation , rejuvenation and , leisure together; three days full of experiences and new things through our activities and groups, three days that -as it is shown by the impressions that follow- brought union with the group, an experience of acceptance, joy and freedom, things that each and everyone discovered for themselves; and mostly our seminar brought the understanding of the unity of things that brings a unique flow in our everyday life!

Three years have already passed since our previous seminar, as the pandemic that broke out suspended many things for so long.

So with great enthusiasm we prepared and held our 19th Seminar with the subject “I live in the moment, I am well” for the members and friends of Omilos in Greece and abroad, at Alkyon 5* Hotel & Spa, at Vrahati Korinthias, 29/12/2022 – 01/01/2023.

The days before the seminar we welcomed the first arrivals of the participants from abroad as well as the members of The Servers’ Society UK Association from London; eberybody came in order to participate in the seminar and spend with us four-days of relaxation, rejuvenation but also acquaintance to a new way of thinking and dunctioning that changes every aspect of our life.

With conversations at the groups during the seminar but also till very late at night, with meditative relaxations, meditations, “dromena” groups, but also with lots of singing and laughter, as we welcomed the new year and celebrated until the early morning hours, we experienced what the Group means, what Union means, what spirituality in practice means!

But let’s have the impressions of the participants say things even better.

One of our seminars with the largest participation came to its conclusion just a few days ago. With participants from various countries – the UK, France, Turkey and others – but also from many different parts of Greece, we all experienced together what it means to unite with the others in practice.

To mark the beginning of the celebrations for the 40 years of Omilos, we organized, within the context of the seminar, an evening of Spirituality and Poetry, where there were some of the most notable contemporary Greek poets and litterateurs, among which were the following:

K. Karousos, F. Zampatha, L.Koutsohera, S. Zacharatos, E. Kontozoglou, A. Gontikas, M. Sourli, and others.

But we will not say any more. We will let the impressions of the participants and the snapshots from the seminar say the rest:

A few days before we said goodbye to 2018, all of us together, members and friends of Omilos, from Greece and other countries, met at Lagadia Arkadias. At our seminar – which had one of the highest attendances – we had a creative three days of relaxation, rejuvenation and, first and foremost, the opportunity to be a group! The magical mountain landscape, the activities of the seminar, the strolls in nature, the conversations with the heads of Omilos in front of the fireplace until late at night or during lunch and dinner, the cheerfulness and joy on New Year’s Eve, “filled our days with the experience that spirituality is within every moment and gave us the boost to move forward”, as it was characteristically said by one of the participants.

Besides, this was exactly the topic of our seminar. Action! How every person can get out of the limitations, of the aspects of inactiveness that suffocate them, and open themselves up to the world around them, to the person next to them, to pass into true action, to true consideration of and union with the others.

“The spiritual people go beyond their ego and separateness and they broaden, they acknowledge that they are all other people. They are happy for what others achieve and accomplish, because what they see is the group and not their separate selves. And the more they realize this, the stronger their inner position becomes and the more they experience inner freedom and happiness. So, things are simple. Stability in the spiritual path. Union with everything. Real experience of inner freedom and real experience of inner, profound joy. Because this is what our soul truly asks for.”

Through the seminars’ scheduled groups and activities but also in the things that might seem simple, such as a meal, a walk in nature, a discussion, the New Year’s Eve celebration, we spend three days as a group, all together, where we saw in action and experienced the union with others and the joy stemming from the experience of every moment.

“What impressed me the most is that besides the scheduled group meetings, I saw a greater group that constantly functions… Besides the discussions here in the seminar room, I also saw the same spiritual conversations during entertainment, walks, dinner, private discussions. Joy, togetherness and relaxation were the basic elements of the atmosphere in which our 14th seminar took place with the topic: “Open Mind is Like Open Soul”.

The four days of the seminar offered everyone an opportunity to rest and rejuvenate. The greek mountain range and the healing baths of the area contributed to this, but mostly the warm ambience and unity of the group were the things that made this seminar unique for us all.

Inner freedom was the essence of the seminar, and was proved to be something needed by all the participants. The subject matter was developed throughout the day with discussions at the programmed meetings of the seminar or during meals or at times of relaxation in the pool, during a walk or while having coffee. The heads of Omilos were available for any inquiry, clarification or personal matter for discussion.

Daily meditative relaxations, chorodromena and poetry analysis gave even more ways not only for deepening into the great subject of inner freedom, but mostly about how we can experience it in our everyday life. Of course, there were moments of amusement proving once again that we can be in the flow of spirituality by participating in all happenings of our life.

We warmly thank all the participants in our seminar: distinguished poets and authors, members and friends of Omilos, as well as members from our group in England.

Right in the heart of the festive season, from December 27th to 30th, we fulfilled our promise to the participants of our summer seminar held in August 2014 at Korfos, Corinthia, by organising a winter seminar, this time in the mountains, and more specifically in the picturesque village of Loutra Ypatis.

The members of our group in London visited Greece exclusively to take part in the seminar and the activities of Omilos in Athens. And had people from Athens and other places of Greece participate in the seminar as well.

Together we discussed the main topic of the seminar, which related to how we can experience every little thing in our life not as a routine but as a miracle. We also referred to practical ways of improving everyday life. Our programme was enriched with daily meditative relaxations, dromena (role-playing) and chorodromena.

Everything we talked about became better understood especially in the moments we spent all together as a group, whilst having lunch, drinking coffee and enjoying nights out. Or during the therapeutic baths we took when we visited the medicinal springs of Platystomo; and on our short trip to Agathonos Monastery, where we were heartily welcomed by the monks. Through these activities, we had the opportunity to experience how simple everyday things can become a source of joy and strength.

This year’s international summer seminar took place in a multi-cultural atmosphere, as we had participants from different countries who joined us and shared with us the joy and community spirit.

The title of the seminar was ‘Keep in touch with harmony, happiness, with yourself… Live life every moment as a miracle!’ and this is exactly what we experienced: simple ways through which we can live in harmony and balance. Ways through which we can be active participants in life, without fighting against it but experiencing it consciously, as the miracle that it essentially is.

How did we explore this life stance? In different experiential ways: through group discussions and analyses, through everyday relaxation exercises by the seaside, through practicing nidra yoga, role play (dromena), chorodromena, groups discussing the inner wisdom in literature, art and so on. Also, through spending our free time together as a group, relaxing, swimming, laughing together and experiencing all that happens when a spiritual perspective is put into practice in daily living.

The Amphitheatre at Sofiko became the host venue for practicing chorodromena but also for our children play, titled ‘The King’s Gifts’ which was performed by the Society’s members, free of charge, for all children and adults coming along from Sofiko and Korfos village.

Members from the London-based group and other visitors from abroad who came along for the first time have already expressed their enthusiasm about joining us again this winter for our next seminar.

‘The art of spiritual living’ 

This year’s international seminar had as its focus the art of spiritual living, the continuous miracle in everyday life!

It was for four days that we gathered together in picturesque Korfos village, right next to the seaside. There were various attendees from both Greece and abroad.

Through several experiential exercises (such as analyses sessions, relaxation sessions, nidra yoga practice, a group exploring the spiritual dimension in music, poetry and the arts), as well as through spending time together as a whole group, we had the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and experience what it means to live in a union flow with life and those around us.

As part of the seminar’s programme, we performed a poetry night at the open theatre of Sofiko, where the poetic work of Dimitris Kakalidis ”The Hidden Lotus of Revelation” was recited and the chorodromena of Omilos where presented. A farewell party that we held by the sea completed this beautiful evening.

We gathered at beautiful Korfos, Korinthia for our international seminar titled:

“Spiritual Healing: The Art of Spiritual Living”

It was our pleasure to have at this year’s summer seminar mental health scientists, teachers, students, lawyers and poets, some of whom were from England, Austria, Turkey and Ghana. We also had in attendance members and friends of Omilos from Athens and other regions of Greece.

The various activities (presentations, analysis, discussions, everyday relaxations, nidra yoga and experiential groups to name a few) which took place during the seminar gave participants the opportunity to know the philosophy of Omilos and mostly to experience what it means for someone to live in the flow of spirituality, calmness, balance and joy in every moment of his life.

The thoughts and opinions expressed and exchanged showed how the teaching of Omilos proposes a way of life that can help each person to be well, beyond cultural or other differences.

“I feel like I am in Plato’s Academy”, a student of Political Science and Philosophy from England told us with enthusiasm. The well known Greek poet and painter Ms Leta Koutsohera honoured us by reciting some of her poems, while poet Michael Kwaku Kesse Somuah from Ghana inspired by “Omilos’ family”, as he calls us, wrote, recited and dedicated poems to Omilos. The power of spiritual healing as well as the togetherness and union that existed made a great impression on the participants who emphasized how important it is to see and experience in action what the teaching of Omilos is all about.

The seminar also included a field trip to the archaeological site of Epidavros, while the farewell evening brought great joy and relaxation to all. We would like to thank all for their participation.

We are already planning our next seminars in Greece and abroad, and would welcome you all.
