Our event honoring the distinguished poet Ms. Eleni Syka-Kontozoglou (22-10-2023)

“Peu à peu, as I was reading poetry, it was like little bursts of light were going on inside my head. I began to understand and unite with the essence of the poem, with what the poet wants to give… I began to understand that what matters is to unite with everyone else… to unite with Poetry»

With these words the President of Omilos Eksipiretiton opened the presentationevent about the distinguished poet Ms. Eleni Syka-Kontozoglou, which was held on Sunday, October the 22nd 2023, in our amphitheatre at Omilos Eksipiretiton. The entire event was a unique poetic journey, in which we had the pleasure of welcoming distinguished writers, spiritual people of the country, wisdom and clay”.

We came to know the work of the excellent poet Ms. Eleni Syka-Kontozoglou, deepened into it, and brought out many of its hidden meanings.

“…Thus, the human ego was united with the infinite, it became the infinite, which was revealed to it ; the infinite which is neither born nor does it die, neither lives nor does it not live. It exists eternally…” the Vice-President of Omilos said, deepening into a poem of Ms. Kontozoglou using the Kakalidis method for Analysis of Poetry and Literature. A poem that was visualized by us in a short video which was played together with a video interview about the biography of Ms. Kontozoglou.

At the event, distinguished writers gave speeches: the President of the Hellenic Literary Society, M.. Kostas Karousos, the poetess-artist Ms. État Koutsochera, the poetrss-mathematician and member of Omilos Ms. Vassiliki Ergazaki and the poet-literary critic Mr. Dimitris Karamvalis. Each one deepening into different pieces of the poetess’ work, they composed the sperical perspective of her entire work.

The unique recitation by the poetess Ms. Marianna Vlachou-Karamvalis framed the speeches of the writers and enlivened Ms. Kontozoglou’s poems.

Both Ms. Panagiota Christopoulou Zaloni, writer and editor of the literary magazine “Kelaino” and the poet-lyricist Mr. Spyros Zacharatos extended special greetings to the event with their own unique way.

Mme. Kontozoglou as well as the journalist-historical writer Mr.Theodosis Kontozoglou spoke after the completion of all speeches to warmly thank Omilos Eksipiretiton and share their thoughts and impressions about the event.

The buffet that followed was the epilogue to this wonderful evening. In the warm and welcoming space of Omilos, we exchanged thoughts, ideas and opinions through beautiful conversations with the writers and friends.

It was one of the events that marked the rest of my life! It seems that in Omilos Eksipiretiton, they never compromise on quality! It was to be in the sunset of my time, to see the… sunrise! Literally, it was a perfect event! The wonderful building of Omilos Eksipiretiton makes you forget for a moment that you are in… Athènes! All our friends, if you allow me to call them with that “heavy” word, were impeccable! The President of Omilos Mr. A. Dritsas, Ms. Voula Kostopetrou, Mme. Vasiliki Ergazaki… so many friends… stole our hearts forever! Alors… «when with friends we drink/ with laughter, with joy / what does the immortal wine of gaiety treat us?/ What flutters within us with light wings?/ But what else? THE SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP!» Thank you very much for everything!
