“In a handful of words lies the whole essence of life. Love and kindness, generously shared and multiplied to make this world of ours a better place. Ms. Kostopetrou’s poems convey hope to the readers, they inspire faith, and lead them to the light.”

- TRANSLATION –

Paraskevi Kostopetrou introduces herself to the reading public with her first poetry collection, publicado por Megas Seirios Publicações. Title of the collection: “Eu estarei aqui”.

This may be her first book, but Paraskevi Kostopetrou has received significant awards in international literary competitions.

Her collection of poems “Eu estarei aqui” includes twenty-five poems. Poems of short length, simple, unpretentious. They refer to time, life’s mistakes, faith, hope and light.

It is not easy for the reader to decode the words of soul written by each poet. In Ms. Kostopetrou’s book, the reader will read poems that are simple but also more lyrical. I singled out a few of them that spoke most to my own soul.

One of them is the poem “Every day”.

You should every day

From the heart’s reserve

Draw out and spread

On the wounds that everybody carries

Even though they hide them skillfully.

You should every day

Drip tear after tear

To the greedy monster kindness

Expecting it to feel the vibration

Of your heart’s immense serenity…

In a handful of words lies the whole essence of life. Love and kindness, generously shared and multiplied to make this world of ours a better place. Ms. Kostopetrou’s poems convey hope to the readers, they inspire faith, and lead them to the light.

See the sun calling you

To blossom, to mellow

You don’t need any more expectation

To set, to be sweet-scented!

Simple but beautiful in its simplicity is the cover of the book, illustrated by Christos Dritsas which perfectly fits the style of the poetry collection.

Summary: “Eu estarei aqui…” says the poet to her readers and accompanies them on a poetic journey full of lyrical ripples and unshakable truths.

Each poem is an experience, taken from tangible reality, given in a precise and unadorned language, transformed into a tender wave of love that embraces and encourages the readers, in order to lead them redemptively “where the horizon’s whitens”, to the “dreamy light of the sun”, or even to the “arms of the stars”, whispering to them wisely that “… life is holy  bread for those who know”.

“In the arms of the stars

Eu me inclinei suavemente

and that milky light

sweetly penetrated my Being.”

The book has been translated and is now available in English
