On Friday 17th of November 2023, we presented the book “…Simple isn’t it?” written by the President of Omilos Eksipiretiton (the Servers’ Society) at the cultural organization The Hellenic Centre, in London.

In a hall full of people, the book sparked a vivid discussion on how simple it is for anyone to be well, to be in the flow of life, in union with others. To turn every moment into a miracle that gives us joy; to create, to offer. To see that we and the others are Suns.

It was a presentation-celebration, where the audience watched enchanted and participated actively in the unfolding of the whole practical philosophy of Omilos, followed by a truly vivid and interesting conversation with many thoughts, questions and the most heartfelt warm impressions!

The Greek language TV channel in London “Hellenic-TV”, as always covered our event, and in the end a short interview was given by the President of Omilos to the journalist and director Mr Vasilis Panayis.

This is exactly what we witnessed. By using our book “…Simple, isn’t it?” as an incentive, we talked about how simple it is for us to be well, to be in the flow of life, in union with others. To turn every moment into a miracle that gives us joy, to create, to offer; to see that we and all others are suns.

Exactly what Omilos is.

And all these, very simply as always…

Through a presentation somewhat different this time, multifaceted, complete… a presentation – celebration where the audience enchanted watched as the practical philosophy of Omilos Eksipiretiton unfolded in front of them. Society UK Association, a very vivid and interesting conversation took place with a plethora of thoughts and queries.

Our event on Byzantine music was held with great success at the Hellenic Center London on October 21st, 2022.

In his opening speech, the President of Omilos referred to “the potential of every human being to be well” and then gave the basic tone of our musical presentation.

“I would like to welcome you all and to thank you for coming tonight at our event. (…) Let me introduce myself. I have the honor and the responsibility to be the President of Omilos Eksipiretiton (εσωτερικο σπυρι με πυον στα γεννητικα οργανα Health), which has existed in Greece for 42 years now. We work upon the human being, because we believe in the potential of every person to be well. The best way to realize this is to believe in and express spirituality within each person.

Greece has great roots; they begin from ancient times and reach up until today. If we think for a while what are the first sounds that a person in Greece hears when they are born, we will see that the first sounds are from the parents, the mother and the father and the second is from Byzantine music. From the priest, who gives the blessing to the child after forty days to go out into the society. Byzantine music, that is, church music, has been directly linked to the Greek people since ancient times

In a sense, the Greek see in themselves the priest as the continuance of the ancient wise man, with the beard and the tunic, the cassock.

These things pass into the consciousness of the people.(…)

Alors, let’s delve deeper into Byzantine music, which has permeated all Greeks and I believe it is a timeless and universal music.”

Le vendredi 21/10/2022, our musical event on Byzantine music took place at the cultural organisation “The Hellenic Center”, London. In a hall literally full of people, music had the first word.

The event opened the President of Omilos with his welcome speech, giving the main tone of the presentation.

Après, the audience, among whom were professors and students of Universities and Colleges in the United Kingdom, watched in fascination the course through the historical background and the characteristics of Byzantine music; everyone participated with great enthusiasm in the chanting during the presentation and in the experiential workshop that followed as well.

En fait, some of the professors who attended asked to stay in touch with Omilos as they found our presentation complete, comprehensive and very lively and they expressed their interest to use it in their lessons.

People’s impressions are very revealing of their experience:

Once again we experienced the power and sweetness of unity, when the souls vibrate and sing “in chords and instruments”, with the voice and the heart.

All who love music and the Hellenic culture will have the opportunity to get to know, listen to and enjoy byzantine music in an event titled εσωτερικο σπυρι με πυον στα γεννητικα οργανα Health: an Ode to God and its Path through Time”. 

What is byzantine music, where is it used, how does it sound? The presentation aims at bringing this rare and unique music genre which has been heard for centuries in all orthodox churches closer to you and take you on a journey through its history, tradition and mainly its sound with live chanting. 

In our event, with the participation of The Servers’ Society UK Association, some historical elements about byzantine music as a distinctive and vibrant genre of religious music will be presented and, through an interactive experiential workshop, the participants will experience the joy of expression through music and try out their own abilities at chanting!

“With the songs as our compass and tradition as the captain” our event on Greek folk music took place at the Hellenic Centre London on 7/11/2019.

An event where we were honoured with the presence of the Director of the Hellenic Centre, Mme. A. Kalispera, and who thanked us by saying: “Exceptional, Congratulations! One of the best presentations ever held here at the Hellenic Centre!”

The bookings were pouring in during the days before the event and the room was filling up with waves of people, but mostly with songs, dancing and that panhuman element that makes us become one. One Group, one Voice.

The President of Omilos expressed it with cohesion in his speech:

“Let’s say that the human being is a tree. A tree is strong and healthy when it has very deep roots, very good roots and healthy ones. Et, you know, Greece has very deep roots starting from Homer, Aeschylus, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates and reaching Elytis, Kavafis and many other contemporary Greek poets.

And so, every Greek learns, just as anyone else in every different nation does, to transmute their agony, pain, fear and joy into a poem, a song, a dance”.

Distinguished people of the Arts, journalists, Greek people living in London but also Londoners from all nationalities joined us and all together we sang both familiar and new melodies with undiminished enthusiasm.

We vibrated not only to the rhythms of dancing and singing, but mainly to the deep roots that make each person’s entity develop and grow.

Our poetic event at the Hellenic Centre in London on tLogos du tiers of the work “Logos the Third” was opened by the President of Omilos by giving the essence of the work being done in Omilos.

His speech follows:

“Ι would like to welcome you and thank you for coming. This is our fourth time at the Hellenic Centre, which is a cradle of civilization, of Greek civilization in London.

I had been thinking about what to tell you in tonight’s event… Ultimately, I will just convey to you something that happened on our way here. As we were driving here in a taxi, the taxi driver asked what the philosophy of Omilos is.

I will tell you, puis, that the philosophy of Omilos is to learn to be well in life. In order to be well in life we must learn to delve into the events of life. Learn to truly live.

In Greek, the word “poetry” comes from the word “poio”, to create. So we learn that in order to be well, we need to create, to live life, to actualize in life. We learn to delve into poetry. We learn to see what is hidden behind the words.

For this reason, books have been written by Omilos which talk about the Wisdom of the Poem, whose second part was completed and published in English this year. We teach our members to write poetry. We are taught and we teach poetry.

The same way we apprentice in sciences, musique, arts. And all this so that we can learn to see the essence of life.

This is the answer that was given to the taxi driver and I simply wanted to convey this to you. Today we will be talking about the third part of the trilogy. There has been a lot of work done on this so it would be good if I stopped occupying your time!

At the same time, the beginning of a new journey towards even broader horizons! Because for us the importance lies in the transition, the abolishing of the horizons’ lines.

The room at the Hellenic Centre was filled with the Logos, and so were our hearts and our Beings. Its power, its pulse left no person unmoved. The reciting in Greek and English inspired the participants to stand in front of the microphone and also recite in turn. To want to become more actively a part of our group.

The personal experiences of members from our Literary Workshop group who had worked on this book highlighted the fact that poetry which deepens into the essence of things can become realization in everyday life. The music and the live song that were heard “brought great exaltation”, as many of the participants told us at the end of the evening.

The power of the Logos, the Word, became the will for even more expansion. Expansion of our collaborations, expansion of our group in London, for our next presentations and activities, and above all, the expansion within us.

We would like to thank all our friends in London who honored us once again with their presence and all together we joined the miraculous Flow of the Word and of Poetry!

ελενα ακριτα για κκε wisdom and clay.” The journey continues…A poetic trilogy by the contemporary Greek poet and philosopher Dimitris Kakalidis μετεκπαιδευση εφεδρων 2014 “And I sing, ευμεγεθη αιμοπεταλια τι ειναι I bear the chants,αστεριξ και κλεοπατρα κομιξ Three days of spiritual healing sessions and healing meditation at Women, ανατολικη ρωμυλια εκδρομη wisdom and clay” εσωτερικο σπυρι με πυον στα γεννητικα οργανα Health, journalist and poet Vasilis Panayi at HellenicTV.

The interview centered around the first volume of our new english edition “The Wisdom of the Poem”, triggering an interesting discussion on the overall work of Omilos, our literary workshop, as well as the method through which we deepen into poetry and literature.

The book by Dimitris Kakalidis, for which the spiritual world of Greece has said that it opens “new, unprecedented paths in anylising poetry” was recently translated in English and we are very proud for the excellent editorial work that managed to convey the meanings of the poems and the analysis.

The second part of the poetic trilogy by D. Kakalidis starts to unfold. Following the flow of the poem, with recitation in Greek and English and analysis on the meanings and the ideas the poet conveys, we reach the end of the presentation; the people attending stay with us until late for…some more conversation, some more contact, some more of the poetry deriving from team work and the love for Logos.
