On Friday May 30th 2025, the President of Omilos was awarded by the Foundation of Giannis Koutsoheras & Lena Strefi Koutsohera and the Newspaper of the Arts, Letters and Spiritual Thought “Noumas”, in an event at the Spiritual Centre of the municipality of Athens.

The honorary award was given by the President of the Koutsoheras Foundation, Mrs Leta Koutsohera, as an acknowledgment and recognition of the longstanding and selfless work of the President of Omilos for the spiritual evolution of the Human Being and his offer to Culture.

The Vice-President of Omilos and V. Egazaki, poetess-member of Omilos, gave awards to winners of the literary competition that was organized by the Koutsoheras Foundations and the Cultural Newspaper “Noumas”.

Poet Vasiliki Ergazaki, member of our literary group “In the flow”, was distinguished with the 2nd Prize on Free Poetic Expression in the 1st International Literary Contest of Pelasghia, Fthiotida with the poem “Warrior”. The contest titled “Achilles, the Homeric hero”, was organized by the Cultural Association of Pelasghia and the literary magazine “Celaeno” in collaboration with the high school of Pelasghia.

The award ceremony took place on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Cultural Center of Pelasghia in a room full of people of the Spirit who came from Greece, Cyprus and abroad to deliver or receive awards; to experience the beauty of the area; and to travel mentally to ancient Phthia and its history.

A wonderful event, starring the “Word” the one which stems from the Greek inexhaustible sources, the eternal Greek values.

The event was honored with the presence of local residents, poets, writers, teachers and students, while the hall was adorned with paintings of the same theme by the painter Niki Vlachou.

The poem “Warrior” will be published in the magazine “Celaeno”.

Two members of Omilos Eksipiretiton (the Servers’ Society), Paraskevi Kostopetrou and Victoria Makri, participated in the 3rd International Literary Competition organized by Asociacion Cultural Helenica  NOSTOS, under the auspices of the Greek Embassy in Argentina titled: “The Parthenon Marbles: The history of a looting or the looting of history?” with the short story THE SACRED DANCE OF THE CARYATIDS and they were awarded the third prize.

The award ceremony in Argentina was held on 26 November 2011 at the Borges room of the National Library in Buenos Aires.

In Greece the ceremony was held on 16 December 2011 at the New Acropolis Museum with the presence of the President of the Organization Christina Tsardikos, the Ambassador of Argentina to Greece Jorge Alejandro Mastropietro, the Senators of Argentina Blanca Monllau and Roberto Basualdo, Argentine Senator and Chairman of the Argentina – Greece Friendship Group Emilio Rached, the Greek Deputy Parliament Speaker Grigoris Niotis, the President of the Acropolis Museum Dimitrios Pandermalis, the president of the Board of Directors of Melina Mercouri Foundation Christoforos Argyropoulos, as well as Greek Members of Parliament, writers, representatives of ΕΚΕΒΙ (National Book Centre of Greece) and publishing houses.

The awarded literary pieces were published in an Anthology.

On 29/6-3/7/2011 we participated in the 22nd World Congress of Poets in Larissa. The congress, in which 205 poets from 65 countries participated, was held by the United Poets Laureate International (UPLI).

In the World Poetry Contest during the congress venue Mrs Fevronia Christodoulidi, member of Omilos and poetess, received the First World Prize in the free verse poetry category with the poem “Marbles in exile”, which refers to the Marbles of the Parthenon.

Moreover, Mrs Paraskevi Kostopetrou, the Responsible of the Society and poetess, was awarded a prize for “recognition and appreciation of Excellence in poetry” by the congress committee for her whole presence at the congress.

At the conference a speech on the “Universal messages in the poetry of the philosopher and poet Dimitris Kakalidis” was presented by Mrs Paraskevi Kostopetrou.

The speech received very favorable reviews: “this is a poet of today”, “you filled our hearts”, said poets, scholars, men and women of letters that were present.

In the poetic evening that took place, poems from Dimitris Kakalidis’ work “Logos the Third” were recited and also members of the Society recited their own poems.
